I have an old antique chair that was in the house when I moved in. I'd like to know more about it - it is an upholstered rocking chair with armrests and pieces cut out for elbows to rest in- someone told us it is a knitting chair. The only writing on it is an "S", but I can't find any website with the manufacturer name - any antique experts out there?

I have a dining room set that I recently bought from someone in great condition. My son decided he wanted to lean back in it and cracked the legs. Do you know where or could you list any reasonable furniture upholster stores are located near 610S, 59S, Hilcroft, Chimney Rock, or Bellaire area? The chairs are wood. Also will it work if the legs are just 1/2 cracked verses broke completely off?

Got new furniture (over sized couch, love seat and chair that is the size of a normal love seat) and I might of messed up the scale, I like it and can't return it anyhow. So how do I make it work for the smaller size of my living space? It has these screw on feet that are keeping it almost six inches off the floor my son drove his remote control car under the couch it's that high. Is it safe to remove the feet like will it break or wreck my flooring? Gosh I need some help here!

I've inherited my parent's estate and am in the process of attempting to liquidate their house contents. They owned a lovely Victorian style home filled with antiques and other highly collectible items. I tried to hire a professional estate liquidator figuring they would know the value and not ask so much it wouldn't sell or so little I would be short-changed. However, nobody was interested (e.g. I have too many other estates right now, you don't live in a 'prime' area, you don't have high enough quality items, etc.). It's like the dealers only want the highest quality items right now like Chippendale, Duncan Phyfe or Louis XIV furniture (who has that laying around?). Then I tried to sell on my own by advertising in the local papers and Craig's List for what I though were reasonable prices (would you pay $75 for a lovely upholstered mahogany rocking chair?). You'd think with all the things I've tried to sell, they would be at least someone that would be interested - but absolutely no one. Am I stuck with a house full of stuff nobody wants? It may not be Sotheby's quality, but it's not junk either and it's too good to give away to the Salvation Army or Goodwill. Any suggestions?

Hi, my sister just gave me a Pottery Barn kids chair from 2002. I'm looking for a slipcover for it but cant figure out what name it is in order to search it. It's an upholstered chair, has the metal gliding circle on the bottom (so it rocks and swivels). It has a removable seat cushion and back cushion. I doubt they still sell it but I'm hoping I can find one on ebay. If you know the name or have any suggestions to find it, I would greatly appreciate it!

Last summer i bought a rocking chair from my neighbor who was on his way to rehab and selling everything. my hub is a master carpenter so he could tell it was old.. it has brer rabbit upholstered backing and is tacked ( gold )..appears to be mahogany or cherry chair.. the fabric on seat is coming up and it appears to be stuffed with horses hair.. and also chair has no nails or screws... old woodworking done... gonna sell it online but have no idea what its worth or how to find out.

Or is this a must-have item for a new baby? Seems like upholstered ones cannot be had for less than $400 or so. Did you definitely need a comfy rocker? Was anyone able to just use an old fashion rocking chair? Did you keep it in your baby's room or in your living room? Thanks for any info anyone has on Rockers/Gliders!
